In the third form, pupils continue developing their science skills and understanding, building on the work covered in the first and second years. Emphasis is placed on observing and explaining a variety of physical phenomena and encouraging scientific enquiry. Homeworks are generally set from a questions booklet.
Topics covered in the third form include the core topics:-- Waves and light
- Forces
- Energy transfer due to heating
- Electricity and magnetism
- Space
All classes cover the core topics before the end of year exams. Towards the end of the year, the KS4 course is started together with investigation work.
