All pupils have at least two periods of sport and physical education each week, the major games being rugby and hockey in winter; in summer tennis, cricket and athletics. Up to twelve rugby teams turn out regularly on Saturday mornings to represent the school. Click here to see a copy of the Rugby Fixtures for 2009-2010.
In addition to organising its own inter-schools sevens competition, the school enters for the major sevens competitions. Inter-house soccer competitions are held during the year.
In the fourth, fifth and sixth forms, badminton, basketball, fencing, rowing, squash, swimming, and volleyball are optional choices during the games periods. As well as gymnastics, the curriculum includes basketball, volleyball and a health and fitness induction course. In the first two years one period is devoted to swimming.
