All boys admitted to the Junior House and specialist music course are required to take part in musical activities arranged outside normal school hours, including weekends and holidays. All pupils are required to learn two musical instruments and are required to take part in ensemble work, attend rehearsals and undertake the practice required for rehearsals.
Junior House pupils have one period of swimming every week and two periods of PE. All pupils will be taught to swim one width of the school swimming pool by Christmas of J1. The major games are rugby, cricket, athletics, and waterpolo. The Junior House all participate in the annual swimming gala and sport day. They also play fixtures against other schools.
All Junior House pupils are encouraged to participate in the co-curricular life of the school and an extensive range of activities are available to them. They have the opportunity to attend Art and Pottery Club, Young Engineers Club, Chess Club, Lego Club, Rosary Club, Science Club and History Club.
