Scheme of Delegation  2018-19

I.            Structure of Governance at The London Oratory School

Governance at The London Oratory School is comprises of the Full Governing Body, and three sub-committees:

1.       The Full Governing Body

2.       The Finance and General Purposes Committee

3.       The Staffing Committee

4.       The Academic and Pastoral Committee

At the direction of the Chair and Headmaster each of these committees can meet as sub-committees, or working parties.

The Foundation is a separate committee that meets to raise funds for capital works projects (buildings). 

The Headmaster sits on each of the committees.

The following list of functions is not intended to be exhaustive or exclusive to the particular committee.

To research and be involved in drawing up an Accessibility Plan for the school

To establish and maintain a performance management policy

To draft and review pay and conditions document

d.       Academic and Pastoral Sub-Committee

To review teaching, learning and assessment outcomes and forecasts for the whole School

To draft and review pastoral care policies, and procedures, including child protection, safeguarding, Special Educational Needs, counselling, RSE, behaviour management, the Disciplinary Statement and Catholic character formation

To draft and review policies and procedures for developing Catholicity in the School curriculum, including the preparation for Section 48 diocesan Inspection

To convene pupil disciplinary panels
