FLOS

What is FLOS?

FLOS (or the ‘Friends of The London Oratory School’) is the School’s monthly giving parental (financial) contribution scheme. Over the years it has been an absolute lifeline to the School: it has ensured that we are able to offer a rich co-curricular and enrichment programme, covering Sport, Music, Drama, CCF and much else besides, including first class educational facilities; moreover, it has helped give us that sharp competitive edge when seeking to recruit and retain the very best teachers.
‍
Thanks to many parents of The London Oratory School, past and present, for their tremendous financial contributions to the School to date: they have defined the School’s overall success, with your help we can continue to support your children’s education and co-curricular activities at The London Oratory School.

Contribute to FLOS

FLOS contributions, however large or small, have a direct impact on the quality of education that our pupils receive. If you have yet to contribute to FLOS but are now in a position to start making contributions, then we invite you to join via the system below.

What is FLOS?

Over the years the Friends of the London Oratory School has been an absolute lifeline to the School: it has ensured that we are able to offer a rich co-curricular and enrichment programme, covering Sport, Music, Drama, CCF and much else besides, including first class educational facilities; moreover, it has helped give us that sharp competitive edge when seeking to recruit and retain the very best teachers.

Sport

FLOS has supported the purchase of equipment and facilities that benefit all the pupils and the development of minority sports in the school.

The use of the new cricket nets and especially the bowling machine have been great. Seeing the machine deliver 99mph swinging deliveries up close has been impressive. I have been using these twice a week in after school training and my Games sessions. Being able to have consistent bowling has really helped me develop my batting, especially the faster 'in swinging' deliveries! By having this onsite, it means we have more time in the lessons for skill development and refinement which is really good and think this will ultimately really help the development of cricket in the school. I am looking forward to continuing to use these until the end of the year and throughout the next years of my Oratory cricket. - Joel Curran

Music

Thanks to FLOS the London Oratory School has a large co-curricular programme and has access to specialist staff and equipment.

CCF

CCF is a great opportunity to develop a variety of skills. FLOS allows CCF to take pupils on activities, camps and exercises.

Drama

The support of FLOS has allowed the drama department to create amazing musicals and productions with the help of specialist staff.

Duke of Edinburgh

Through the Duke of Edinburgh Awards pupils have developed skills, knowledge and experience in a multitude of areas. The support of FLOS has provided equipment and has ensured that the DofE awards are accessible to all pupils.

My name is Damaris Hayford I have completed my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award in my previous school and I am currently embarking on my Duke of Edinburgh Gold. The DofE award definitely has a positive impact on all who decide to complete it. It enables pupils to develop as an individual as you develop many useful skills such as map reading and navigation skills. Personally, DofE has helped me develop as a person as it has encouraged me to be more confident and has taught me to be resilient. Furthermore, DofE has allowed me to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills which are essential in the modern world. DofE requires a lot of equipment such as the tents needed for the expedition section of DofE. This equipment is provided by the FLOS donors and we are truly grateful. Through their contributions all pupils are given the opportunity to complete their DofE, this makes a big difference to all of us. DofE is a great award and anyone who gets the chance to do it should. - Damaris Hayford – 6H2
